I was not scared-But Now?

I was not scared when as a 20 year old I went to 1971 war as part of the Indian contingent. I was not even scared when immediately after the war male members of my family including my father were sent to jail for no offence but just because he belonged to RSS or were Hindus. I was not even scared when as a young defence officer I was trailed by intelligence agencies for months and when they could find nothing the then government ensured that I did not have a career in defence services. I was not scared when my friend was killed along with others besides the road while he was waiting for the Air Force bus to take them to work. I was not scared when hundreds of Sikhs were killed in 1984 in the name of punishment for the murder of Indira Gandhi and till now not only justified it and even shielded and rewarded the culprits. I was not scared when on saying “Bharat Mata kee Jai” I was branded as a Hindu fundamentalist. I was not scared when even belonging to the majority Hindu community I was given the treatment of a second class citizen. I was not scared when questions were raised on the legitimacy of the surgical strike which was carried out successfully and brilliantly by my own fellow armed forces personnel. I was not scared when people petitioned the court not to give capital punishment to the terrorists. I was not scared when people raised the slogans that “Bharat tere Tukde Honge” and raised slogan in favour of terrorists or for the people who wish to destroy the nation. I was not scared when the parliament was attacked by terrorists and we lost a few brave central armed police force personnel and nobody can even remember their names. I was not scared when the Army Chief was called “Gali Ka Gunda” and the Air Force Chief a liar. What can you expect from persons who during their life time have acted by imposing emergency, killed Sikhs, indulged in corruption, lies and justified it and have been involved with looting the nation by indulging in bribes, corruption and then shielding the looters?
But now I am scared, yes ,you have heard it right I am scared because a few intellectuals, politicians and actors are scaring me by talking about their and their children lives but are not bothered about the lives of the children of the nation who are killed by terrorists and Pakistan army on the border and are only doing their duty to the nation so that these intellectual can write article, publish books, support naxalites and earn money by acting and saying big dialogues in which they have no faith themselves. Now I am scared and shudder as to what will happen if Modi cannot come to power and the next prime minister of India will be from Lalu Yadav. Mamta Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi, Akilesh yadav, Omar Adbulla, Owassi or the like of them who are not even a regional player what to talk about national leader. I am scared that then I will be again branded as a Hindu fundamentalist or Hindu terrorist just because I am a Hindu and would loudly say “Bharat Mata Kee Jai” or sing “Vande Mataram”.  I am scared that now I will have to see a repeat of emergency or a Sikh/Hindu genocide again. I am scared that we will lose all credibility in the world which Modi has build during his stint as Prime Minister of India. I am scared that my children will be no longer be safe in this country if they called themselves Hindu. I am scared that whatever gains we have made in controlling terror in Jammu and Kashmir will be lost and Armed Forces personnel, Para Military personnel and CAPF personnel will be tried  for murder and hanged for doing their duty to the nation and the people who killed these brave soldiers by killing them or pelting them with stones, humiliating them in public while they show exemplary restraint in doing their duty will go scot free or may even be given medal for bravery or service to the nation. I am scared that the swatch bharat abhiyan will lose its meaning, the villagers will go back to defecating by the road side or forced to do it in open and the Ayushman health scheme will become full or corruption and will become a drain on exchequer. The taxes we pay will not be utilised for development or raising the standards but will be given like doles to public by the politicians to gain a few more votes rather than addressing the root problem.
